We originally made a wall behind our front window to display our awards. This wall is now totally filled, and our award winners have overflowed to every wall of our shop! We also have albums that shows just a small variety of the numerous projects we have recently done. We show lots of samples to help you make the right choice. And, guaranteed, we have designs you have never seen before!
We are proud to display a small sampling of the numerous awards we have won for creative framing and matting. When you see them, please note the diversity of styles and designs that we have produced. Imagine what we can do for you!
Many of our customers periodically drop by our store just to see our latest awards, even if they don’t need framing. Most say that it’s hard to pick just one favorite from our display of framing competition winners. Many of our customers have likened our showroom to a “museum of picture framing”. Visit The Frame Man and we guarantee, you will see designs that you have never seen before!
The Frameman has been written up one or more times by twenty-four newspapers and trade publications. Just imagine what we can do for you!
Simone and Carol are shown proudly displaying a replica of an etched ivory piece, “Taking Time”, our fiftieth award winner. We framed this piece as collectible, and fashioned the frame and matting to complement the shape and artwork of the piece.
Note that we deliberately bottom weighted the mat. We made both the bottom and top margins larger than the side margins to correlate with the “deco styling” of the ivory piece.
We also cut the mats and built the frame with curved profiles to match the corresponding top and bottom shapes of the ivory piece. Also check out the unique outer edge design when you see it in person!
You’ve probably seen copies of this print around in the shopping catalogs, but you have never seen it framed like this! “Makulu and child,” a print of a mother giraffe and baby was framed with a “giraffe pattern French mat” of our design, and a correlating frame. We made this mat using a new high-tech digital process. We then printed the design on the mat board with an archival digital printer. Makulu won Popular Choice USA, and third place USA.
This black and white photograph was framed to give the appearance of a “three-dimensional style” French Mat. It actually has a total of six mats! It won both “First Prize” and “Popular choice” at a recent competition sponsored by New England Professional Picture Framers. “Good color selection, creative design, visual impact and craftsmanship” were among the strong points cited in the judges’ findings for first prize.
This framed print of "Tinkerbell” took First Place USA in a national picture framing competition. This win was the third year in a row that The Frame Man won first place in a national competition. This win also earned “Tinkerbell” a place in the Professional Picture Framers “Framing Hall of Fame”, located in Jackson, MI.
This framing job was also an award winner. It took ribbons at both New England and National Professional Picture Framer Association competitions. It offers a very interesting design, along with an extremely high level of craftsmanship.
This map collage was featured in Décor Magazine. Note that we took a map, mounted it, and placed subject related photos in openings that were cut in appropriate locations throughout the map.
We have done this for numerous residential and commercial customers. Make sure you check out the "Cross Country Bike Trip Collage" in our "Lots More Great Projects" section.
In a national competition, this doll case won an award for creative use of shadowbox molding. Sitting inside is a prized, limited-edition doll, “Simone”, made by Edna Hibel. When you visit us, make sure to look this one over closely. Also, take a peek inside at the domed skylight in the roof.
We built this shadow box to replicate a tropical salt-water aquarium. And unlike the real kind, this one is maintenance free. Jim, one of our craftsmen, modeled the fish inside to look just like those in the print. This frame won an award in a national competition for creative use of shadowbox molding.
All of our award winners are on display in our showroom.
